Fractal sets are subsets of the Euclidean space that are very irregular. There are notions of dimensions to measure their size. We discuss the Minkowski dimension and the Hausdorff dimension of a few typical examples. For sets with some iterative description, ideas of dynamical systems are involved in the estimates.
