Resumo: Algebraic geometry is arguably started from the discovery of 27 lines on a cubic surface (correspondence between Cayley and Salmon in middle of 19th century). In the middle of 20th century Grothendieck in a letter to Serre introduced a notions now known as Grothendieck ring of varieties, sometimes derogatory dubbed as Poor Man's Motives, or ring of generalized Euler characteristics. I will explain some new simple formulae in this ring that give another look on 27 lines.
