C. Hugo graduated from the Applied Mathematics undergrad program at the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, Mexico. MsC in Mathematics at the University of Alberta, Canada. PhD in Mathematics at the University of Seville, Spain, doing research visits during this time at the University of Paris VI, France, University of Athens, Greece and Fields Institute, Canada. He has postdoctoral experience at the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain and Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He specialises in Functional Analysis and Convex Geometry with some experience on Discrete Geometry, Probabilistic methods and Quantum Information.
We study several problems connected to Functional Analysis and Convex Geometry. Our latest research can be divided into two main lines. Geometry of Log-concave functions where we study functional extensions of fundamental properties in the theory of Convex Bodies. This project is a join work with Professors Rafael Villa (Universidad de Sevilla), Bernardo Gonzales (TU Munich ) e David Alonso (Universidad de Zaragoza). The second main line of research is devoted to the study of sharp functional inequalities, among the inequalities we are interested in we have the Affine Sobolev type inequalities. This project is conducted in collaboration with Professors Julian Haddad and Marcos Montenegro (UFMG).
