Title The number of measures of maximal entropy for surface diffeomorphisms (video)

Newhouse showed that any C infinity diffeomorphism has at least one measure of maximal entropy. We show that in dimension two, there are at most finitely many ergodic measures of maximal entropy, and in the topologically transitive case exactly one. This is joint work with Jerome Buzzi and Sylvain Crovisier.
